Keyham Farm, Boxing Day 26/12/05

It was a shame that the Boxing Day meet was not better attended, because not only did James and Carolyn put on a very good meet at short notice, but we also enjoyed some very good hunting, thanks to our Quarry Chris Lee not consuming too much Christmas pudding! There was some concern that some of the children wanted take a bloodhound home; that was until they saw Baldric drooling at the sight and smell of the sausage rolls.

Our first hunt started along the top of Goliegh Hill before hounds ran down hill back below Goliegh Farm before swing parallel to the East Tisted road, to cross the road below Heards Farm catching their quarry near Hullam Lane.

The second hunt Started near Homestead Farm, running by Hale Copse before turning uphill to cross the road between Charity and King's Farms to run towards Noar Hill. As hounds got onto Noar Hill numerous walkers trying to walk off their Christmas lunches confused hounds and they struggled a bit before sorting themselves out and catching their quarry at the top of the hill. Our thanks to the Rotherfield Estate, Mr Mitham and Keeper Peter Rose for their help in giving us these two enjoyable hunts.

The final hunt was a short gallop over Mr Beecham's land at Hawkley. Once again our thanks for accommodating us at short notice.
