End of Season Supper 2004 Held at The Craw Inn, Auchencrow

Over 30 people attended the End of Season Supper where retiring Master Jeremy Whaley used the occasion to present engraved vases to Hunt President, The Lady Palmer, Joint Masters Christine Lady de la Rue and Doreen Calder and Honorary Hunt Secretary Ann Shaw. He also presented engraved glasses to Honorary Hunt President Tom Morgan, The Lord Palmer, Quarry Captain Les Turnbull, Ron Hastings, Rachel Dewar and David Moscrop as a thank you for all their help during his Mastership.

Jeremy went on to thank everybody in the hunt for working so hard to make this new hunt such a success. He commented on the tremendous spirit out hunting and wished everyone all the best for the future.

Jeremy donned sunglasses (left) to give an amusing, if not very truthful, account of his recent filming experience with hounds Jumbo, Scotland and Ullapool.

Honorary Hunt President Tom Morgan praised Jeremy for the work he had done in setting up the Borders Bloodhounds and wished him well for his move south. He also praised the remaining Joint Masters and hoped they would be successful in finding a replacement for Jeremy.

John Burrough was called to the centre of the room by Jeremy and scolded for hunting last season without a "thong" on his whip. Jeremy decided he could stand this no longer and presented John with a new thong for next season. I am not sure it is the right sort though! However John was praised for the fun he brings to the hunting field and the good humoured way he handles having his leg pulled so regularly.

Wendy Turnbull also made an impromptu speech which was well recieved by all, except possibley Clive Burrough who found himself "mentioned in despatches"! Like father like son, he took it in good heart.
